How to press release distribution (2) where to send and how to send
  • Now let's learn about where to send, after understanding the criteria for content. Who invented what and it's quite funny that it is said in PR industry the person who has a right to decide in the show is generally good for sending press release to. So it is thought that the press release is to be sent to producers, but it's completely a big mistake!
  • Producers focus on the program budget management, and is hardly involved in a daily producing work (broadcasting contents). A part of the producers likes to be involved in program producing in the same period as director. But it is quite rare.
  • However, if you have a good relationship with them, it is an effective way to send a press release directly to producers. They certainly are the decision makers so it is almost definite that your press release are going to be picked up if the producer gives the green light. However, 99.9% of suddenly sent press releases to producers who you addressed would never be well-read and are simply thrown away, so just be careful.
  • It is the director who actually produces the program who is struggling to collect the topics. There is a big difference between when the director who is seriously thinking "I must find an interesting topic somehow until broadcasting day!" sees the press release, and when the director see it who only checks the press release with saying [Have you already found the topic of this week?]
  • And remember your press release may be handed to the person in charge of unexpected corner if you send it with the address [(name of program) To director]. The most effective way is to send the press release with the notice [(name of program) To director in charge of corner].
  • In addition, mailing is more likely to fall directly into the hands of person in charge than sending by Fax, so just make a little effort and mail it.
Shipment will arrive on his desk, but FAX is not necessarily so.
