Behind-the-Japanese Production (4): Hope and Doubt
  • @As previously noted, TV directors are constantly on the edge when they work. In an ideal world, they would have ample time and preparation to work with you; but in reality, that is just not the case. This is especially true with live shows.
  • @Interview requests a day before shooting are not rare at all in this business. There were even times when I requested for interviews on the day of the interview.
  • @If your company is serious about promoting on TV, then you need to be ready for anything, especially with your schedule. Simply being available to the TV crews at any time can greatly increase your chances of going on TV.
Just as it is a waste to reject a request from a TV show, simply keeping this thought in mind may be beneficial at some point.
  • @To maximize your opportunities, it is best to never leave the production in the dark, even during weekends, holidays, or after hours. Production crews often find themselves stuck when they cannot contact the companies at crucial times.
  • @The TV industry has a different sense of time and people are very impatient.
If they cannot get a hold of you, then they will begin to look elsewhere. To not waste these opportunities, it may be best to include a cell phone number along with the companyfs contact information in the press release.
