  • @Why do TV staffs go through so much trouble to produce a show?
    There are several reasons.One is that creators are constantly under the pressure to make entertaining shows. As soon as they fail, people lying in wait will replace them. Since most everyone has seen or was involved in such a supplanting themselves, everybody works under the fear of getting replaced. However, the most feared reason has nothing to do with colleagues, but with the shoulder load that comes with being responsible for the hundreds and thousands of dollars spent by the sponsors.
  • @The business is cutthroat. Even if directors find themselves without a proposal at the deadline, nobody is there to help. Colleagues will not help because they have the same problems to worry about. Cooperation is not even an option.
  • @So the problem falls on the directorfs shoulders. And if a director cannot find a decent proposal to work with, that causes problems for a whole lot of people, starting with the sponsors, the crew, the producers, the sales department, and the production company. Everybody feels the effects of a stalled production. Thus, the massive pressure of sponsorship is a cause for tremendous stress for the directors.
  • @There was an instance when I saw this pressure crush a director once.
    One day, I was in the staff room after finishing that dayfs broadcast. I suddenly received a phone call from the camera crew who were supposed to be out on location. They asked if I knew where the director was. The director was supposed to have joined them earlier so they could head out on location to shoot.
  • @I looked in the staff room but he was not there. I asked some people to help find the director. I called his home, but the man was nowhere to be found.
    Fortunately, we were able to find his shooting schedule, and I had a substitute director go with the crew.
  • @Once they arrived at the location however, they soon realized what the problem had been. The two locations could not be filmed: the first place had already rejected a request for shooting, and the second one was still under construction.
  • @The director had fled, fearing the consequences of not being able to find a replacement for his proposal.
  • @This is the kind of environment that these people work in.
  • @By the way, when something like this occurs, the news is extended to fill up the remaining time. This rarely happens though.
